Time:12:31 pm.
Mood: apathetic.
Music:Mates Of State "Team Boo".
Many things have changed since my last entry on here, and time has flown by! It's already been over a month. Well, I'm now living in a place that's somehow very very different from what I'm used to, but at the same time it's pretty much the same life.

Everything around me is a fucking lobby, everything is a fucking corporate, everything is a fucking chain, everything is a fucking registered mark, people don't call shops by the type of business they do but by their brand. There's no pharmacies in this town, there's Walgreens or Eckerds; there's no grocery stores in this town, there's Publix or Albertsons. If you don't know the brands, you're a fucking outcast!

Everything is intense and extreme: Bush is extremely dumb, Chomsky is extremely witty; people seem to be extremely critical or extremely dumb. Everybody is intense and extreme into what they do: some are extreme about cars, some others are extreme about bikes, most youngsters are extreme about drinking, pretty much everybody is extreme about college football.

Cars don't serve the purpose of taking from A to B, they're not means of transportation. Cars are made for cruising, for showing off, for racing, for sound system contests, for burning gas by speeding while waiting for the green light. Somebody has been fighting for oil, they might as well waste it!

Everybody seems so fucking tough in their own little microcosm, in their own (huge and ugly and fucking wasteful) car or with their own crew, but they're all individuals who are trying to blend in somehow. If you look at somebody for too long, if you touch somebody or hurt their feelings, they get frightened! Dare you not invade their own little world!

Food is a concept that needed to be completely redefined. Taste doesn't matter anymore, health doesn't matter anymore, quality is an unknown concept. All it matters is quantity, is getting loaded with food. Doesn't matter if the food itself is loaded with GMO's and chemicals and tastes like plastic, as long as you can get a whole lot of it!

Nothing is FREE in this country, nothing is more important than fucking money! Because money rules the country, and human lives just can't compare! Medical insurance is more important than the life of a person: you gotta be sure they pledged allegiance to a fucking corporation before you can save their lives! Sounds natural, doesn't it?

It's hard to connect with most people my age...even after a month...and no, it's not a matter of languages...it's that when I have a conversation I don't usually stop after "Hey what's up? What's your name? What's your major?"...those are just formalities...but here it seems to be all people want to know about you!

Not everything is as bad as it might seem though...all the things I just mentioned will sound negative to most of you, while they're really not for me at the moment...it's interesting to notice the differences (at least for now!).

Luckily, I'm finally in a place where I can ride my bike anywhere and don't really need to get in a car; I've got a very international group of colleagues and I love teaching; there's so many opportunities for playing any kind of sport I just need the time to try them all; there's so many amazing shows coming up soon I can't even start to think about them! Some stuff (technology and clothes) is extremely cheap compared to where I come from (some other is ridiculously expensive though!). Luckily not everything that sounds negative is actually bad, and I'm learning my way around!

Now if only I could get paid...it would be great! :)
